Students have also been working hard learning as much as they can about the state of Connecticut in preparation for their kid's fair projects. We continue to push ourselves to become better learners each and every day! February 7th, 2020
Believe it or not, today the lower school students were celebrating 100 days of school. Although we do not do anything special for this day in 4th grade, it is hard to believe how fast this year is going. We continue to work on our Connecticut research projects and have just finished up our fantasy novel study. Important Updates and Information 1. Service Project Trip - Cancelled The staff of WHHRC have decided it is in the best interest of their residents and our students to not attend the February Service Project due to illnesses at the facility. We will work out a new date or schedule soon. 2. Valentine's Day Valentines Day is Friday, February 14th. If students would like to bring in a Valentine for their classmates they can, but it is not required. However if a student is binging in a Valentine here are a few requirements. - A Valentine needs to be given to all students in the class. (A class list will be sent home if needed) - No food or candy. If you have any questions please send in a note or contact the school. January 6th, 2020

The year is just flying by. This month we are exploring the Catholic Social Teaching of Care for God's Creation and also the Choose Love theme of Hope. The students have discussed how they can show Care for God's Creation, and wrote the ways they can do this on our bulletin board. We also read and wrote about St. Francis of Assisi, who had a special devotion to nature. This unit goes hand in hand with our life science unit we are covering with Mrs. Roy, and some of our novel study texts. Below you can see some of our work on our board. September 17th, 2019
The last two weeks have been so busy here in 4B. We are busy each day reviewing material from last year and beginning to explore some new concepts for this year. This week we have our class retreat. This is an opportunity to get to know each other a little better and to explore the theme of courage. This week is also Curriculum Night. This is a great opportunity for parents to visit the classroom and get to know a little more about what their child will be learning throughout the year. I hope many of you are able to make it. Welcome back to an exciting year in 4th grade. Many of you are returning to STA this year, but we also have many new friends who will be joining us. Wether you are a returning student or new to our school community, I can't wait to begin and help you to be the best student that you can be. You may have heard that 4th grade is much more challenging than 3rd grade, but I know that all the students in 4B are ready for that challenge. We will have many fun and interesting lessons that will spark your creativity. In this last week, please continue to work on that summer bridging and get yourself ready for a great year. Welcome to 4B! |
